Preface

Hi there!
First off, the purpose of this blog is to assist modern ladies(or gentlemen), who feel that baking is a culinary art/science that only the professionals should tamper with, in attaining the glory of being crowned a "kitchen goddess".
How would I be able to do that, one might ask. Yes I'm sure there are many sites that provide excellent recipes for delicious looking confectionaries, but if one isn't familiar or has no prior experience in baking, it would be quite a demanding task, and the end result probably wouldn't quite be within expectations.

Ok, now that I've stated my purpose, time to introduce myself.
My name is carmen, and I must first clarify that I am no great patissier, in fact, I'm no patissier. But don't worry, even though I have yet to join 'le cordon bleu' (the french one preferably), I DO bake. Quite often in fact, especially in recent months seeing that I'm home most of the time. In this time I've tried out many recipes, and one day while I was baking I thought that it'll be a good idea to post on my baking chronicles for the fun of it(it's good reminder on what I've learnt too), and help people who are interested in taking up the art, be it for self(to be able to feed yourself when living alone. i.e. overseas students) or for loved ones(mother's/father's/valentine's day or friend's birthday). I'd be posting recipes as well as plenty of pictures in hope that it'll prove to be useful in your endeavours. Most importantly, the key to being a "kitchen goddess" is practise. You don't necessarily need to master many recipes to be one, you'd just have to choose a recipe to specialise in, put in time and effort to practise and perfect it, and voila! All who have tasted your specialty would be pestering you for your secret formula. Of course, learning more recipes will result in a wider choice of things to bake, and mastering more recipes would make you even more of a "kitchen goddess".=D

Lastly, I do welcome comments to help me improve my blog, or if you have any queries so feel free to leave comments. I hope you'd enjoy the blog!
